Fight for Sight sponsors Candia McWilliam at the Wigtown Book Festival

On Saturday 2 October 2010, Candia McWilliam will be talking about her new book ‘What to Look for in Winter: A Memoir in Blindness’ at the Wigtown Book Festival.

Novelist Candia McWilliam had just joined the judging panel of the Man Booker Prize in 2006 when she began to lose her sight. The onset of blindness seemed like an assault tailored for someone whose life consisted of reading and writing. She will talk about her affecting memoir, which explores her condition and discusses the painful process of hoping for a cure for her blindness – which was finally delivered.
