Come and join us!

In 2011 Fight for Sight celebrated the launch of the Carrots NightWalk, which raised over £58,000 to fund pioneering research to prevent sight loss and treat eye disease.

Building on this success, this year's NightWalk will take to the streets of London again with the aim of raising yet more funds for vital eye research.

Come and join Fight for Sight's Carrots NightWalk – See London in the Dark 2012, on Friday 21 September.

The route

This year there will be two walks. The 15 mile NightWalk, starting at 11pm, is available to anyone of 13 years and above. The 6 mile NightWalk, starting at 7pm, is available for all ages.

A registration fee of £25 is required to register and we ask you to pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship of £150. There is no registration fee for children under 13 years taking part in the 6 mile walk.

Where your money goes

Fight for Sight funded research is deepening the understanding of eye diseases, and helps their early diagnosis, prevention and treatment. Our funding has helped to save the sight of premature babies, enabled over 52,000 corneal transplants, and support the world’s first gene therapy clinical trial for inherited retinal disease. Chris Holmes

“I’ve always believed that sport and recreational activity is such a positive thing and should be accessible and inclusive for everyone. The enabling power of sport means that whatever level you’re at, you can get so much out of it: a sense of achievement, confidence, friendship...

This is why I am delighted to support the Carrots NightWalk 2012, and I’ll be there on 21 September walking with you all, sharing this experience. To have so many people walking to raise funds for research to prevent sight loss and to increase the awareness of the importance of eye health is just fantastic.”
